Kino der Toten
The BO1 launch map — a derelict German theatre. No boss quest, but a full set of systems and side secrets: teleporter Pack-a-Punch, the three film reels, the “115” song, two hidden radios, the character portraits and the Pentagon model rocket.
Quick answers
How do you complete the Kino der Toten Easter egg?
- Turn on power at the rear of the theater stage (by the curtains)

Key areas
Spawn Room
Where you start, with Quick Revive and the map's first wall buys. The first of the three Element-115 rocks for the “115” song sits in a glass jar in the corner by the lower zombie window.
Upper Hall & Portrait Room
The landing above spawn. Mule Kick is in the portrait room, beside the door through to the Foyer, and the five framed pictures on its wall are the character-portrait Easter egg.
Foyer
Speed Cola and three zombie windows, with enough floor to run a comfortable training loop — it is the most forgiving space on the map, and the way down into the theatre.
Theater
The auditorium and its seating. Jugger-Nog is here, and the first of the two shootable radios is hidden up in the chandelier.
Stage
The far end of the map. The power switch is on the back of the stage rather than in a basement, and the teleporter pad sits in front of it — every Pack-a-Punch trip both starts and ends here, so this is where you land when the projector room throws you out.
Dressing Room
Two zombie windows, two Electro-Shock Defenses, a Mystery Box spawn and the MP5K on the wall. The second 115 rock is on the black table behind the two mannequins — and the left-hand mannequin is where the model-rocket jump is done.
Alley
Double Tap Root Beer, four zombie spawn points, and the barrier you shoot the distant tower radio from. In the Black Ops 3 version the blue door here is where the “Samantha's Sorrow” knock puzzle is solved.
Storage Room
A small side room holding the third 115 rock, on a shelf beside a zombie window.
Projector Room
Pack-a-Punch, reachable only by linking the stage teleporter to the lobby mainframe. The projector that takes the three film reels is in here, and the clock above the machine counts down your stay — you are ejected the moment the second hand reaches twelve.
The teleporter rooms
Four rooms the teleporter drops you through in passing: Samantha's bedroom in its intact and destroyed states, the dentist/interrogation room and the Pentagon conference room. They hold the three film reels and the model rocket, and visiting every one of them is its own achievement in Black Ops 3.
What to do
- Turn on power at the rear of the theater stage (by the curtains)
- Link the stage teleporter to the lobby mainframe, then teleport up to the projector room for Pack-a-Punch
- Recover the 3 random film reels and play each in the projector
- Hidden song “115”: activate the 3 Element-115 fragments
- Shoot the 2 hidden radios — theater chandelier & alley tower
- Interact with the 5 upstairs character portraits
- After all 3 reels are loaded, trigger the Pentagon-room model rocket
Before you start
What to have in hand before step 1 — from the loadout notes, from the walkthrough itself, and from the map's own quest documentation where the gate is never stated in a step.
- No boss quest. Power is a wall switch at the rear of the theatre stage, by the curtains — not a basement, which is where most players look first.
- Pack-a-Punch is not a place you walk to: it is a teleporter trip with a hard timer, so bank 5,000 points before you link.
- Perk costs: Jugger-Nog 2,500, Quick Revive 1,500 (500 solo), Speed Cola 3,000, Double Tap Root Beer 2,000, Mule Kick 4,000.
- The Foyer (three zombie windows, open floor) is the map's easiest early hold and training loop — buy Speed Cola there before pushing toward the Stage.
- Nova gas crawlers debut on this map; the stage turret and an electric trap are both usable hold tools once a round gets busy.
- BO3/Zombies Chronicles adds a whole extra quest, Samantha's Sorrow — not in the 2010 disc version. The old iOS spin-off (Kino) cuts further: no Mule Kick, no radios, only two of the four teleporter rooms, no working reels, and the Wehrmacht eagle replaces swastikas.
Where your run will differ
Gathered here so you meet them before they cost you a run rather than after — quoted word for word from the guide below, or researched from the map's own quest documentation.
This map exists in more than one release, and these are the points where they differ. Everything else in this guide applies to both.

Full walkthrough
The quest in the order this guide runs it — tap any step to jump to it, and it fills in as you tick steps off.
Power on
Flip the switch at the back of the stage. There is no basement to check on this map — that is the mistake most new players make. This lights the theatre and switches on the stage teleporter pad.
Hold the Foyer, buy in
Speed Cola is in the Foyer, which has three zombie windows and enough open floor for a comfortable early loop. Jugger-Nog is through in the Theatre. Mule Kick is upstairs in the Upper Hall portrait room.
Quick win: The Foyer is the single most forgiving room on the map — bank points there before pushing toward the Stage.
Link the teleporter, ride to Pack-a-Punch
With power on, hold Use on the stage teleporter pad to link it to the lobby mainframe, then ride up to the Projector Room. Pack-a-Punch is 5,000 a go. A clock above the machine counts your stay down — you are ejected back to the Stage the instant the second hand reaches twelve, so grab your gun before then and never leave one inside. After a trip the teleporter needs roughly a minute to cool down, so line your points up before you go, not after you land.
Tip: The stage turret and an electric trap are strong hold tools during that cooldown.
Quick win: Every relink is also a free shot at landing somewhere holding a film reel (step 4).
Version: The standalone mobile spin-off drops two of the four teleporter destinations — the Pentagon Conference Room and the dentist/interrogation room are not present — and the projector just loops a generic montage instead of taking real reels.
Film reels
Each trip drops you randomly in one of the four rooms; three hold a reel between them (one room may come up empty) — intact bedroom (table, bed or rocking chair), destroyed bedroom (bed, table or window), dentist room (cart or either counter), Pentagon room (TV, projector or front table). Carry each back to the Projector Room and load it in — it plays a clip and a voice note from Ludvig Maxis.
Quick win: The exact spot barely matters — the task is cycling trips until all three reel rooms have come up.
115
Hold interact on each, any order: the spawn corner, in a glass jar by the lower zombie window; the Dressing Room, on the black table behind the two mannequins; the Storage Room, on a shelf beside a zombie window. Once per match. 115 by Elena Siegman plays once all three register.
Quick win: All three sit on your natural route to Pack-a-Punch and the Box, so no detour is needed.
Two radios and the character portraits
Shoot the radio hidden up in the theatre chandelier, then the one on the distant tower visible from the Alley barrier, for extra story audio (a precise bullet weapon makes both easier to confirm). In the Upper Hall portrait room, interact with each of the five framed pictures: the four Ultimis portraits (the line depends on which character you are playing) and the obscured fifth.
Pentagon model rocket
Load all three film reels first — the rocket does nothing until they are in. In the Dressing Room, stand in front of the LEFT-hand of the two mannequins by the Speed Cola door and jump on the spot five times. Then keep riding and relinking the stage teleporter: the Pentagon room is only one of its random destinations, so cycle trips until you land there. Interact with the small model rocket on the table before the room fades; it launches for the story beat.
Tip: If nothing fires, confirm all three reels are actually loaded, redo the five jumps at the left mannequin, and try again — get the order right (reels, then jumps, then teleport).
Confirmation cue: The rocket visibly launches.
BO3/Chronicles only: Samantha's Sorrow
Not in the 2010 disc version. At the blue Alley door, listen for a knock pattern, then melee the door to repeat it back — ten possible patterns are documented, e.g. 1-1-5, 1-2-1, 6-6-6, 9-3-5. Match three separate sequences; all three correct spawns a Samantha doll (in front of the stage, or on rubble to the left of it — accounts differ). Interact, then find and shoot five more dolls that spawn one at a time; a Samantha laugh means you were too slow or wrong, and you restart from the first doll. We count ten known spawn points (including the chandelier orb, the projector-room sill and the stage platform); another list names seven, only partly overlapping (a Stage house-prop, a ceiling grate by the Stage/Dressing Room trap, a balcony, the chandelier, a Theatre-alley chair, an upper balcony, the Pack-a-Punch room) — sweep broadly rather than trust either list as exhaustive. Interact with the standing doll once more: the song plays and a free Max Ammo spawns.
Version: BO3/Zombies Chronicles only — does not exist in the 2010 Black Ops map.
Hold-and-train plan for high rounds
A HubPages high-round guide favours the top of the spawn-room stairs, second-floor door kept shut, so zombies climb only two staircases from below while teammates split to cover both — the guide says this out-paces running trains for round progression. Loadout: an ICR-1 or KN-44 (BO3-era build) Pack-a-Punched, plus Jugger-Nog, Speed Cola, Double Tap and Deadshot Daiquiri, the last one singled out for making headshots easier.
Tip: A separate HubPages guide instead runs three players on the Alley steps and one on the back barricade by Double Tap, reporting round 26 — either spot works by limiting zombies to one approach direction.
Quick win: Bank a crawler between rounds at either spot for a breather to repair or reposition.
Side Easter Eggs & extras
Everything beyond the main quest. Tap any entry to open the full how-and-where breakdown.
“115”
Elena Siegman. Hold interact on the 3 Element-115 fragments — the spawn/lobby corner (in a glass jar by the lower zombie window), the dressing room (black table behind the two mannequins) and the storage room (a shelf beside a zombie window). Any order; once per match.
- Hold Use on 3 meteorite fragments, in any order
- Lobby / spawn room — on a pedestal in the corner beneath the stairs, by the bottom window
- Dressing room — on a pedestal behind the mannequins (the room off the left of the stage)
- Room above the stage (the box-spawn room off the alley) — on the shelf near the alphabet letters
- '115' by Elena Siegman plays — once per game
Film reels
Three random film reels (one per teleporter trip) hide across four possible rooms, three spots each (one room may be empty): Samantha's intact bedroom (table / bed / by the rocking chair) · the destroyed Samantha bedroom (bed / overturned table / by the window) · the dentist / interrogation room (cart by the chair / either counter) · the Pentagon conference room (on the TV / under the projector / front table). Carry each back and load it into the projector; all three loaded is the prerequisite for the model rocket.
Two shootable radios
Shoot the hidden radio up in the theater chandelier, and the one atop the distant tower seen from the alley barrier by Double Tap, for extra story audio (a precise bullet weapon is easiest to confirm).
Character portraits
The upstairs portrait room by the theater holds five framed images — interact with the four Ultimis portraits (the line depends on your character) and the obscured fifth for narrative audio.
Pentagon model rocket
With all three film reels loaded, jump five times in front of the left of the two mannequins by the Speed Cola door in the Dressing Room, then keep taking teleporter trips until one lands in the Pentagon conference room and interact with the small model rocket on the table before the room fades. Full steps below.
- Load all three film reels into the projector first — the rocket ignores you until the reels are done (see the Film reels step).
- In the Dressing Room, stand in front of the LEFT of the two mannequins by the Speed Cola door and jump five times on the spot to arm the rocket. (This mannequin-jump trigger is the community-verified activation; keep the reels loaded as well.)
- Ride the stage teleporter and keep relinking — its destination is random, and the Pentagon conference room is only one of several, so cycle trips until you land there.
- In the Pentagon room, interact with the small model rocket on the table before the room fades — it launches for the story beat.
- If nothing fires, confirm all three reels are loaded, re-do the five jumps at the left mannequin, and teleport again.
Pack-a-Punch trip — timing & cooldown
Each teleporter link is a free trip to the projector-room Pack-a-Punch. Watch the clock above the machine: it shows your remaining time and you're ejected back to the stage the moment the seconds hand reaches 12 — grab your gun before then and never leave one inside. After a trip the teleporter goes on a ~1-minute cooldown before it can be relinked, so line up your 5,000 points before you go. Nova gas crawlers debut here; the stage turret and electric trap are strong hold tools.
“Samantha's Sorrow” (Kino · BO3)
Black Ops 3 / Zombies Chronicles only. A door-knock puzzle at the Alley blue door, then a five-doll hunt for the song and a free Max Ammo. Full steps below.
- Black Ops 3 / Zombies Chronicles only — this quest does not exist in the 2010 Black Ops map.
- Go to the blue door in the Alley (outside, toward the Double Tap side). Listen to a knock sequence, then MELEE the door to repeat the pattern back — e.g. a 1-1-5 pattern is 1 knock, pause, 1 knock, pause, 5 knocks.
- Three separate knock sequences play in turn; match each one. Getting all three right spawns a Samantha doll in front of the stage.
- Interact with that doll, then find and SHOOT 5 more dolls that spawn one at a time around the map (10 known spawn points — including the chandelier orb, the projector-room sill and the stage platform).
- Each doll gives a nearby sound as a proximity cue; a Samantha laugh means you failed (too slow or wrong doll) and you restart from the first doll.
- After the fifth doll, interact with the standing doll again to finish “Samantha's Sorrow” — the song plays and a free Max Ammo spawns.

Recommended loadouts
Three strong picks for this map — the map's Wonder Weapon plus reliable box/wall options. These are pre-augment-era games, so the setup is the gun plus Pack-a-Punch and perk synergy.
Thundergun
Panic buttonBox only. One shot flattens a whole horde — save it for when you're swarped on the stage. PaP into the Zeus Cannon for more ammo.
Ray Gun
All-roundBox. Splash clears trains; Jug + Speed Cola + Double Tap is the classic backbone.
MP5K / MPL (PaP)
Early economyCheap wall SMGs that carry the early rounds; Pack-a-Punch to keep them alive into the 20s while you fish the box.
