Quick answers

How do you complete the The Shadowed Throne Easter egg?

It is rated Hard and takes about 45–75 min. The run breaks down like this:
  1. Tune the Main Street radio (coordinates)
  2. Shoot the flare box → summon the airship
  3. Build the Wunderbuss (stem + battery)
  4. Charge the tether anchors with the Wunderbuss
  5. Contact & trade with the Smuggler
  6. Power the theatre projector → project the map
  7. Smuggler's Bat (knock on the basement door)
  8. Dancer's Dagger (clown-doll counts → safe code)
Each stage is written out in full — with the exact locations, the order things must be done in and what to do when a step refuses to trigger — in the walkthrough below.

What is the Wonder Weapon on The Shadowed Throne?

Wunderbuss. How you get hold of it — the parts, the crafting steps and the upgrade if it has one — is covered step by step in the walkthrough, along with whether it is required for the main quest or simply worth the detour.

Who is the boss on The Shadowed Throne?

the Stadtjäger (airship). The walkthrough covers the whole encounter: how the fight is structured, where the damage goes, what the arena throws at you between phases, and the loadout worth bringing before you commit to it.

How long does the The Shadowed Throne Easter egg take?

About 45–75 min for a run that already knows the steps, and we rate it Hard. A first attempt takes considerably longer — almost all of the time goes on setup rather than the finale, so knowing the order in advance is what shortens a run.

Can you do the The Shadowed Throne Easter egg solo?

Players: 1–4 (solo-capable). It is solo-capable. Co-op mainly helps with the timed steps, where a second player can hold a zombie or cover a second position, and it makes the ending far more forgiving.

Is there a song Easter egg on The Shadowed Throne?

Yes — “Dark Wings” (Shadowed Throne). Don Veca ft. Nikola Printz. Shoot the Apartment hallway painting (leading to Main Street) to drop a vinyl, place it on the Apartment living-room record player, and power it with the Wunderbuss. Full trigger steps for it are in the side Easter eggs section.

What are the main areas on The Shadowed Throne?

6 are documented: Main Street / Plaza, The Apartment (+ basement), Kronprinz Theatre, Museum, Church and Underbelly / Hidden Courtyard. Knowing the names matters more than it sounds — most guides, including this one, describe locations by area name rather than by direction.

How many side Easter eggs are on The Shadowed Throne?

10 are documented here — song, free weapon, free perk, collectible, side Easter eggs and reward. Each one has its own steps rather than a one-line mention, so they can be followed mid-game.

Are there solvers for the The Shadowed Throne puzzles?

Yes. The Shadowed Throne has randomised puzzles whose answer changes every match, so there is nothing to look up — this guide ships 1 interactive solver that take what your own game is showing you and return the answer for that run. They are embedded at the step that needs them and listed together in the solvers section.

When was The Shadowed Throne released?

10 Apr 2018.

The Shadowed Throne — Layout
Layout

Main Street / Plaza

Central hub — the story radio, the flare box that summons the airship, and the first tether pod.

The Apartment (+ basement)

The Wunderbuss crafting station, the Dancer's Dagger safe, and the song's record player.

Kronprinz Theatre

The projector, film reel and magnifying glass; the cabaret bells for the audio-log egg.

Museum

Wunderbuss battery spawns, the scale puzzle for the Nazi Axe and Faustblitz.

Church

The three stone relic slots (bat/dagger/axe) and the coordinate map.

Underbelly / Hidden Courtyard

The Übersprengen (Pack-a-Punch) lift and the sealed Barbarossa statue puzzle.

Steps at a glance

  1. Tune the Main Street radio (coordinates)
  2. Shoot the flare box → summon the airship
  3. Build the Wunderbuss (stem + battery)
  4. Charge the tether anchors with the Wunderbuss
  5. Contact & trade with the Smuggler
  6. Power the theatre projector → project the map
  7. Smuggler's Bat (knock on the basement door)
  8. Dancer's Dagger (clown-doll counts → safe code)
  9. Nazi Axe (Morse → magnifying glass → scale puzzle)
  10. Charge all three relics → open the Hidden Courtyard
  11. Barbarossa statue + raven puzzle → the blade
  12. Board the airship, beat the Stadtjäger
The Wunderbuss is the spine of this map — it charges the anchors, powers the projector, reveals the Smuggler frequency, opens Pack-a-Punch and finishes the boss. Refill it by holding ADS (the energy siphon) on a zombie, and always bank a charge before a timed step so you don't stall mid-quest.

Before you start

What to have in hand before step 1 — from the loadout notes, from the walkthrough itself, and from the map's own quest documentation where the gate is never stated in a step.

Items to bring / craft first
  • Siphon a zombie to a full Wunderbuss charge (hold ADS) before starting a tether anchor — each one eats close to a full charge and locks to whichever method (nearby kills or Wunderbuss fire) you start with, so don't mix them. — step 5
Round and timing gates
  • Charge the Church weapon wall in exact order — 20 normal zombies, then 10 Sizzlers, then 10 Pests — out-of-order kills don't count toward the current category. — step 10
  • Reset the Apartment safe with two full dial rotations before entering the four clown-doll digits, right-left-right-left. — step 8
  • Turning one wall statue in the Hidden Courtyard rotates its neighbours too — plan the sequence rather than spinning randomly toward the central Barbarossa. — step 11

The quest in the order this guide runs it — tap any step to jump to it, and it fills in as you tick steps off.

1
Main Street radio

Contact via radio

+

Read the region name on the Church map, match it to the coordinate chart, and input the coordinates on the Main Street radio.

2
Plaza flare box

Summon the airship

+

Shoot the lock off the flare box, then melee it to fire the flare and call the zeppelin.

3
Apartment basement

Build the Wunderbuss

+

Melee-kill a Sizzler (lava zombie from the airship) for the stem, grab the battery (Theatre / Museum top floor / Museum ground floor), and combine them at the basement station. Refill by holding ADS on zombies.

4
Destroyed Building · sewer

Pack-a-Punch (Übersprengen)

+

Blow the covers off the two fuse panels (sewer bars + Destroyed Building) with explosives, then hit the wires with the Wunderbuss — the first charge lowers the Übersprengen, the second opens the lift.

5
Plaza · Museum · courtyard

Charge the tether anchors

+

Charge the three Zeppelin anchors with 150 Wunderbuss ammo each — the Destroyed Building ceiling (across from Übersprengen), the Museum ceiling, and the Plaza near Double Tap (the Plaza one locks to whichever method you start with — nearby kills or Wunderbuss fire, don't mix). Each anchor eats close to a full Wunderbuss charge, so siphon a zombie to full first (hold ADS) before you start one or it stalls halfway. When all three turn yellow, the drop pod lowers over Main Street. A separate ceiling anchor inside Barbarossa's Refuge also takes 150 Wunderbuss.

6
Apartment · Plaza floor panel

The Smuggler

+

Shoot the basement cash register with the Wunderbuss to reveal a frequency; enter it on the radio. Open the marked GAS floor tile by the BAR, pass a bullet weapon through to the Smuggler, survive ~2 rounds, then deposit Jolts in the Cabaret GAS hole to pay him.

7
Basement door · Church

Smuggler's Bat

+

Melee the basement side-room door three times, take the gold bat from the heavy that appears, and slot it in its Church stone.

8
Theatre · Apartment safe

Dancer's Dagger

+

Shoot the Apartment hallway painting, run the projector and film reel, then hit the projector with the Wunderbuss to reveal a minimap. The four clown dolls are marked with green markers on the Cabaret map; kills near each doll charge it, and each doll's kill count is one digit of the combination. At the safe (next to the vanity in the dead woman's Apartment), hold interact between rounds, reset it with two full dial rotations, then enter the four numbers right, left, right, left. Open it for the dagger and slot it in the Church.

9
Radio · Theatre · Museum

Nazi Axe

+

Find the frequency digits (Theatre / Museum / elevator), input them, and translate the returned Morse code to coordinates. Use the Theatre magnifying glass on the Church map for the Scale Bowl, Sizzler-head + bowl on the Museum scales, get kills by the rabbit, and take the Axe — slot it in the Church.

10
Church

Charge the relics → the courtyard

+

With all three relics slotted by the Church red door, charge the weapon wall in this exact order: 20 normal zombies, then 10 Sizzlers, then 10 Pests (out-of-order kills don't count toward the current category). The red door then opens into Barbarossa's Refuge (the Hidden Courtyard).

11
Hidden Courtyard

Statue & raven puzzle

+

Rotate the wall statues so they all face the central golden Barbarossa (turning one rotates its neighbours). When solved, place the four raven statues at the base in the correct order to receive the sword blade.

12
Plaza tether pod

Board the airship → the Stadtjäger

+

All players enter the pod and fire a full Wunderbuss at the ceiling cable together to lift off. Inside, route the glowing power ball through the terminals (green connections only) to open all five gates — take the upper branch first, then the lower one into Straub's room — dropping the Stadtjäger. It's only vulnerable in a phase-specific window: phase 1 shoot the orange chest engine while he charges · phase 2 damage him during his Geistbolt throw (kill the Sizzlers he spawns) · phase 3 shoot the gas cloud he releases to electrify it, then burn him while he stands in it. Each phase ends when he injects himself; after phase 3, return to the pod.

Reward: Stadtjäger Down — the sword shard.

+

The beam Wonder Weapon — a Sizzler stem + a battery, crafted at the Apartment basement station; refills by siphoning zombies with ADS.

Free weapon

The three melee relics

+

Smuggler's Bat, Dancer's Dagger and Nazi Axe — each obtained and charged with geistkraft during the quest, then slotted in the Church.

  1. Smuggler's Bat: pay the Smuggler (cash-register frequency + the floor-panel trade), melee the basement door 3 times, take the bat from the heavy, slot it in the Church
  2. Dancer's Dagger: run the Theatre projector + film reel, hit the projector with the Wunderbuss for a minimap, count the souls at the four clown dolls, open the balcony safe with those counts
  3. Nazi Axe: Morse frequency → coordinates, magnifying glass on the Church map for the Scale Bowl, Sizzler-head + bowl on the Museum scales, kills by the rabbit → the Axe
  4. Charge each with its enemy type (bat = Pests, dagger = zombies, axe = Sizzlers) to open the Hidden Courtyard
Free perk

Geistschild (Spirit Shield)

+

A purchasable machine (Plaza, by the doorway to Barbarossa's Refuge) that absorbs up to three otherwise-fatal hits — starts at 500 Jolts, scaling up.

Free perk

Treasure Zombie

+

Kill a Treasure Zombie for a single free purchase — randomly a Blitz, the Geistschild or the Mystery Box.

Collectible

Cabaret bells (audio recording)

+

Shoot the eight bells/lamps around the Cabaret in sequence within ~25 seconds to unlock a story recording (far easier with the Wunderbuss).

  1. In the Kronprinz Theatre / Cabaret, shoot 8 bells or lamps in sequence within ~25 seconds
  2. Order: front desk, the instruments table, the centre rubble, the piano on stage, the backstage levers, the 2F costume rack, the cheetah-poster table, then the front desk again
  3. The Wunderbuss makes hitting them all in time far easier
  4. Completing it unlocks a hidden story recording
Side EE

Cabaret sign Hangman

+

On the far-left Cabaret sign, shoot the arrows to cycle each letter and the centre dot to submit it. Spell a word for a reward: DAMNATION (Nuke) · REAPER (Insta-Kill) · GEISTKRAFT (full specialist) · FAMISHED (Max Ammo) · GLUTTONY (double Jolts) · WONDER (Tesla Gun + Ripsaw) · THEJACKBOX (Jack-in-the-Boxes). Wrong letters add to the noose; a full body resets the word.

Reward

Five hats (1,952 Jolts + power-ups)

+

Carry one hat at a time and place it on the Cabaret stage Cheetah statue in order — Fedora, Pilot Cap, Garrison Cap, Officer Hat, Red Hat (each has two possible spawns across the Church, Cabaret, Museum, Underbelly and Apartments). After the fifth, 1,952 Jolts and five power-ups appear by the statue.

Free weapon

“The Classic” PPSh-41 (mirrors)

+

Backstage in the Cabaret, drop Jolts at each of the three mirrors and interact exactly when the travelling light returns to bottom-centre (each mirror runs faster). All three done adds The Classic to the Mystery Box pool.

Reward

“Thule's Errand” camo

+

Set the Main Street radio frequency to 39 / 39 to unlock a hidden weapon camo.

When it isn't working

The stalls that actually cost people runs on this map, and what to do about each.

TroubleshootingEach of these is quoted from the step it belongs to, derived from a gate the guide already states, or researched from the map's own quest documentation — nothing here is guesswork about what might be going wrong.

A tether anchor stalls halfway

It locks to whichever charging method you start with, and mixing kills with Wunderbuss fire stalls it — siphon to full first, then commit to one method (step 5).

The weapon-wall charge won't finish the last category

Kills only count in strict order (20 normal, then 10 Sizzlers, then 10 Pests); out-of-order kills don't count (step 10).

The safe won't open with the right digits

It needs two full dial rotations as a reset before the four digits, and the direction matters: right-left-right-left (step 8).

The statue puzzle keeps scrambling

Turning one statue rotates its neighbours too — plan moves rather than spinning at random (step 11).

The Stadtjäger barely takes damage

It is only vulnerable in phase-specific windows: the orange chest engine while charging, during its Geistbolt throw, or while standing in electrified gas (step 12).

Common The Shadowed Throne questions

Direct answers to the specific things players look up mid-game — part locations, puzzle steps and more.

Why is the Wunderbuss so important?

Because it is the spine of the whole map. It charges the anchors, powers the projector, reveals the Smuggler frequency, opens Pack-a-Punch and finishes the boss. Craft it at the Apartment basement station from a Sizzler stem and a battery.

How do I refill the Wunderbuss?

Hold aim on a zombie to siphon its energy. Bank a charge before any timed step — running dry halfway through one is the usual way this quest stalls.

How do I open Pack-a-Punch on The Shadowed Throne?

The Übersprengen lift, reached through the Destroyed Building and the sewer. Charging it is a Wunderbuss job like most things here.

What are the three melee relics?

The Smuggler's Bat, the Dancer's Dagger and the Nazi Axe. Each is found and then charged with geistkraft during the quest, and all three slot into the Church.

What is the Geistschild?

A purchasable spirit shield from the machine in the Plaza, by the doorway to Barbarossa's Refuge. It absorbs up to three otherwise-fatal hits. It starts at 500 Jolts and the price scales up from there.

What is a Treasure Zombie?

Kill one and you get a single free purchase — randomly a Blitz machine, the Geistschild or the Mystery Box. Worth chasing when you are short of Jolts.

How does the Cabaret sign Hangman work?

On the far-left Cabaret sign, shoot the arrows to cycle each letter and the centre dot to submit it. Spelling a word pays out: DAMNATION for a Nuke, REAPER for an Insta-Kill, GEISTKRAFT for a full specialist, FAMISHED for a Max Ammo, GLUTTONY for double Jolts, WONDER for a Tesla Gun and Ripsaw, and THEJACKBOX for Jack-in-the-Boxes. Wrong letters add to the noose, and a full body resets the word.

What do the five hats do?

Carry one at a time and place it on the Cheetah statue on the Cabaret stage, in order: Fedora, Pilot Cap, Garrison Cap, Officer Hat, Red Hat. Each has two possible spawns across the Church, Cabaret, Museum, Underbelly and Apartments. After the fifth, 1,952 Jolts and five power-ups appear by the statue.

How do I get The Classic PPSh-41 here?

Backstage in the Cabaret. Drop Jolts at each of the three mirrors and interact exactly as the travelling light returns to bottom-centre — each mirror runs faster than the last. All three adds The Classic to the Mystery Box pool.

Is there a hidden camo?

Yes. Set the Main Street radio frequency to 39 / 39 for the “Thule's Errand” weapon camo.
