Quick answers

How do you complete the Survival maps & DOA Easter egg?

The run breaks down like this:
  1. Vandorn Farm — the launch survival map, a tiny slice of Ashes of the Damned
  2. Ashwood, Exit 115 (the diner), Zarya Cosmodrome — more Ashes of the Damned POIs as survival arenas
  3. Nuked & Mars — survival arenas carved from Paradox Junction and Astra Malorum
  4. Each keeps its Der Wunderfizz, Mystery Box, Arsenal and a trap; missing machines (like PaP) are added in
  5. Dead Ops Arcade 4 — the top-down twin-stick arcade mode with its own arenas
  6. Rogue Run — a permanent roguelite mode: start with a random pistol, clear a round, then take one pedestal reward to build a synergy, fighting HVT bosses across five playlists for permanent unlocks
  7. Eidskallen Lighthouse (Season 05) — a vertical slice of Totenreich; Pack-a-Punch is up the lighthouse stairs
Each stage is written out in full — with the exact locations, the order things must be done in and what to do when a step refuses to trigger — in the walkthrough below.

How many side Easter eggs are on Survival maps & DOA?

11 are documented here — survival map, mode, mechanic and rewards. Each one has its own steps rather than a one-line mention, so they can be followed mid-game.

When was Survival maps & DOA released?

2025–2026.

What to do

  7. Eidskallen Lighthouse (Season 05) — a vertical slice of Totenreich; Pack-a-Punch is up the lighthouse stairs
No step-by-step quests here. Survival maps are pure horde defence in a confined space — great for camo grinding and high-round runs. Try Cursed mode for a harder twist.

Before you start

What to have in hand before step 1 — from the loadout notes, from the walkthrough itself, and from the map's own quest documentation where the gate is never stated in a step.

Know before you load in
  • No Easter eggs or quests on any Survival map — pure horde defence in a confined arena, good for camo grinding and high-round pushes.
  • Every Survival map keeps Der Wunderfizz, the Mystery Box and the Arsenal, plus a trap; Pack-a-Punch is added even where the round-based POI does not have one there.
  • Milestones land at rounds 10/25/50 (typically an Emblem, then a Weapon Charm, then a GobbleGum, plus 1,000/2,500/5,000 XP). Eidskallen's set is fully published; for the other six, Treyarch only publishes names season by season, so most per-map reward names are not documented (Nuked is the one exception).
  • Cursed Survival and Starting Room are separate harder variants layered on the same maps — see the steps below.
  • Dead Ops Arcade 4 and Rogue Run sit in this same site category but have their own full walkthroughs; only the essentials are repeated here.

1
The Ashes of the Damned farmyard — Barn, Farmhouse, Shed, and a connecting basement

Vandorn Farm (launch map)

+

Hold the barn interior: its single main doorway funnels the horde into one lane, and the barn's elevation over the yard buys extra distance. Farmhouse doors cost 2,500 essence. Der Wunderfizz is on the middle house's second floor; the Box spawns next to the power-pump building; the Arsenal is in the basement; the Crafting Table and Pack-a-Punch are in the barn. The Saw Blade Trap (1,000 essence, left of the farmhouse doors) kills 100-plus per activation.

Quick win: Feed items to Chompy, left of the Wunderfizz house, for salvage and a chance at a free Ray Gun — melee destroys him instead, so don't.

2
Three more Ashes of the Damned POIs turned into standalone arenas

Ashwood, Exit 115, Zarya Cosmodrome

+

Ashwood: Pack-a-Punch is underground beneath the town, guarded by Fog Zombies that do not count toward round completion — get in, grab it, get out. Wunderfizz is upstairs in a house; the Box roams the upper town. Best hold: the Klaus Room by the old sheriff's office (tight funnel, predictable spawns, clear retreat). Priority: clear the Rabbit Alley Power Pump, buy Jugger-Nog, a quick Pack-a-Punch trip, then Wunderfizz and Speed Cola (the Ashwood detail is reported by boostmatch.gg). Exit 115: two purchasable doors (Reba's Diner, McDougal's Service Station), 2,000 essence each; power is already on. Pack-a-Punch and Wunderfizz replace Elemental Pop and Deadshot Daiquiri in the Diner and Station. Zarya Cosmodrome: power is also already on, with the standard machine set; no door costs or hold spot are published.

Quick win: On Exit 115, crouch-melee the vending machine outside McDougal's once per round for a free random item; a Melee Macchiato fist empties it all at once but disables it for the match. A free Bonus Points power-up sits under a car on the collapsed bridge.

3
Arenas carved from Paradox Junction (Nuked) and Astra Malorum (Mars)

Nuked and Mars

+

Nuked: the path to Trinity Ave is pre-cleared, so Pack-a-Punch and Wunderfizz are available immediately. Quick Revive always spawns at the Cul-de-Sac bus; other perks randomise between their usual spots. Doors cost 2,000 essence each, raised from the round-based version. The cul-de-sac corner funnels well. Mars: the Aegis Terminal periodically drops local gravity, letting you jump higher and further while slowing zombies — use the window to reposition. Uber Klaus is the map's Elite; from round 40 it can spawn as a bare Core instead of a full exoskeleton. Raised observatory walkways break line of sight for a hold.

Quick win: On Nuked three free power-ups keep their Paradox Junction spots — Bonus Points (second floor, SE Trinity Ave house, best opened with an explosive), Double Points (NE corner of the wrecked red Cul-de-Sac house, by a piano), Max Armor (the bench inside the Cul-de-Sac bus). On Mars the Pareidolia gag still works — aim at the giant statue head in the south-west corner.

Version: Nuked drops Paradox Junction's Temporal Conduit and Shock Mimics entirely.

4
Totenreich's Beacon Island and Lighthouse

Eidskallen Lighthouse (Season 05)

+

Fights are unusually vertical, on icy cliffs. The linked door to the fishing shed and lighthouse interior costs 2,750 essence; Pack-a-Punch is up the lighthouse stairs rather than dropped at spawn. A Rampage Inducer sits at spawn by the FlaK 88. Necropincers and Frost Zombie special rounds both appear. Flammenfalle is the signature fire trap. Confirmed milestones: round 10 Valhallan Animated Emblem (1,000 XP); round 25 Eidskallen's Light Weapon Charm (2,500 XP); round 50 Gift Card GobbleGum (5,000 XP). A separate rotating three-hour leaderboard event on this map awards the Harbinger and Ragnarök Universal Camos, an Emblem, a Weapon Charm and the Wake Up Call DS20 Mirage Blueprint.

Quick win: A free Bonus Points power-up sits on a crate in the fenced area between Der Wunderfizz and the Crafting Table.

Applies on top of any of the seven maps above

Cursed Survival: what changes

+

You start with a Jäger 45 only — no loadout weapons. The minimap, objective markers and quest-hint progress bars are disabled. Pack-a-Punch costs rise sharply: Tier I 10,000 essence (up from 5,000), Tier II 25,000 (from 15,000), Tier III 50,000 (from 30,000). Scoring goes Black Ops 3-style — melee kills score more than precision and standard kills, any non-lethal hit is worth 10 points, and ammo costs change too. Any Relic already unlocked in standard Cursed mode can be used here; activating Relics raises the run's Tier, unlocking Golden Armor, Ultra-rarity weapons and Pack-a-Punch Level 4.

Quick win: Milestones land at rounds 25/50/75 across Tiers 1–3, with Ultra GobbleGum and Charm rewards.

6
Any of the five maps offering it (per-map reward sets below)

Starting Room: the sealed-spawn variant

+

Every door stays sealed, there is no exfil, and no Pack-a-Punch, armour vests or perk machines beyond whatever the spawn room holds — except a GobbleGum machine, which every Starting Room includes. That machine is the whole trick: perks and Pack-a-Punch-like effects only reach you through gums. Goal: highest round; reward milestones stop at round 50. Reward sets (rounds 10/25/50, all worth 1,000/2,500/5,000 XP): Ashes of the Damned — Near Death Experience GobbleGum, Noir Bash and Colorful Bash Calling Cards. Astra Malorum — Hidden Power GobbleGum, Noir Stand Off and Vivid Stand Off. Paradox Junction — Armor Gettin' GobbleGum, Noir Prowlers and Vivid Prowlers. Totenreich — Flavor Hex GobbleGum, Cold Reel and Aether Fisher. Kowakujō (Season 05) — Hellping Hound, Armor Gettin' and Hidden Power GobbleGums.

Quick win: Check the GobbleGum machine's stock before committing to a push — it is your entire perk plan for the room.

Rogue Run and Dead Ops Arcade 4

+

Rogue Run: random-pistol start, one pedestal reward per cleared round, HVT bosses across five playlists for permanent unlocks — see Rogue Run. Dead Ops Arcade 4: chain kills for a score multiplier, sweep arenas for hidden exits and bonus rooms, bank screen-clearing drops for dense waves — see Dead Ops Arcade 4. Neither has fixed hidden power-ups — the same kill and round drop pool as every Survival map above (Max Ammo, Nuke, Insta-Kill, Double Points, Full Power, Bonus Points).

Side Easter Eggs & extras

Everything beyond the main quest. Tap any entry to open the full how-and-where breakdown.

Survival map

Vandorn Farm (launch)

+

The debut Survival arena — the Ashes of the Damned farmyard. A compact barn-and-yard loop: hold the barn interior with its single main doorway and train the horde into one lane, keeping the nearest wall weapon for cheap ammo. Der Wunderfizz, Mystery Box and Arsenal are present, and Pack-a-Punch is added in for Survival. Cursed mode layers on modifiers (tougher elites, altered drops).

Survival map

Ashwood · Exit 115 · Zarya

+

More Ashes of the Damned POIs as standalone arenas — the Ashwood town core, the Exit 115 roadside diner and the Zarya Cosmodrome interior. Each is a tight kill-box: pick the room with two exits you can pinch down to one, buy the closest wall weapon for ammo economy, and rotate to the map's trap when a Cursed elite wave lands.

Survival map

Nuked & Mars

+

Arenas carved from Paradox Junction (Nuked = the destroyed-timeline Nuketown) and Astra Malorum (Mars). Nuked's cul-de-sac funnels well from a backyard corner; Mars uses the observatory's raised walkways to break line of sight. Standard Survival machine set (Wunderfizz, Box, Arsenal, trap, added PaP).

Mode

Rogue Run

+

A permanent roguelite mode — random-pistol starts, one pedestal reward per round, HVT bosses across five playlists for permanent unlocks. Full pedestal-synergy breakdown on the dedicated Rogue Run guide.

Mode

Dead Ops Arcade 4

+

The top-down twin-stick arcade mode — score-multiplier kill chains, hidden exits and bonus rooms. Full rundown on the dedicated Dead Ops Arcade 4 guide.

Mechanic

Power-ups & drops

+

Survival, Rogue Run and DOA all use the standard round-based power-up pool dropped by kills — Max Ammo, Nuke, Insta-Kill, Double Points, Full Power and Bonus Points. There are no fixed or pre-placed hidden power-ups on these maps; every drop is a random kill reward, so there is nothing hidden to hunt for.

Mode

Starting Room — all five maps (rewards updated Season 05)

+

Starting Room locks you into a map's spawn area: every door sealed, no exfil, and no Pack-a-Punch, armour vests or perk machines beyond whatever that room happens to contain. Every Starting Room does include a GobbleGum machine, which is the whole trick to the mode — perks and Pack-a-Punch effects have to be forced in through gums. The objective is simply the highest round, and reward milestones stop at Round 50.

Ashes of the Damned (launch) — R10 ‘Near Death Experience’ Ultra GobbleGum · R25 ‘Noir Bash’ Calling Card · R50 ‘Colorful Bash’ Calling Card.
Astra Malorum — R10 ‘Hidden Power’ Ultra GobbleGum · R25 ‘Noir Stand Off’ Calling Card · R50 ‘Vivid Stand Off’ Calling Card.
Paradox Junction (Season 03) — R10 ‘Armor Gettin'’ Legendary GobbleGum · R25 ‘Noir Prowlers’ Calling Card · R50 ‘Vivid Prowlers’ Calling Card.
Totenreich (Season 04) — R10 ‘Flavor Hex’ Legendary GobbleGum · R25 ‘Cold Reel’ Calling Card · R50 ‘Aether Fisher’ Calling Card.
Kowakujō (NEW, Season 05) — R10 ‘Hellping Hound’ GobbleGum · R25 ‘Armor Gettin'’ GobbleGum · R50 ‘Hidden Power’ GobbleGum.

XP is 1,000 / 2,500 / 5,000 at the three milestones on every map. The reward sets are map-specific, so do not assume one map's list carries to another.

Survival map

Eidskallen Lighthouse (NEW — Season 05)

+

A confined section of the Totenreich round-based map — Beacon Island and the Lighthouse. Fights are unusually vertical, on icy cliffs, and Pack-a-Punch is reached by climbing the lighthouse stairs rather than being dropped in. The signature defence is the Flammenfalle fire trap.

Confirmed rewards: R10 ‘Valhallan’ Animated Emblem (1,000 XP) · R25 ‘Eidskallen's Light’ Weapon Charm (2,500 XP) · R50 ‘Gift Card’ GobbleGum (5,000 XP).

There is also a rotating Eidskallen Leaderboard Event — three-hour leaderboards on this map awarding the ‘Harbinger’ and ‘Ragnarök’ Universal Camos, an Emblem, a Weapon Charm and the ‘Wake Up Call’ DS20 Mirage Blueprint.

Rewards

Survival milestones — how the reward sets work

+

Every Survival map awards permanent rewards on first completion of Rounds 10, 25 and 50: typically an Emblem at 10, a Weapon Charm at 25 and a GobbleGum at 50, plus 1,000 / 2,500 / 5,000 XP. Cursed Survival variants shift the milestones to Rounds 25 / 50 / 75 across Tiers 1–3, with Ultra GobbleGum and Charm rewards.

Eidskallen Lighthouse's set is published in full (above). For the six earlier maps — Vandorn Farm, Exit 115, Zarya Cosmodrome, Mars, Ashwood and Nuked — Treyarch only publishes reward names season by season, so the full per-map lists are not officially documented. The one confirmed example is Nuked: ‘Population: Just You’ Animated Emblem and ‘Dead End’ Weapon Charm. We would rather leave the rest blank than guess them.

Survival map

Nuked: three fixed free power-ups

+

Bonus Points (second floor of the SE Trinity Ave house — an explosive opens it), Double Points (NE corner of the wrecked red Cul-de-Sac house, by the piano) and Max Armor (the bench inside the Cul-de-Sac bus) all keep their Paradox Junction spots.

Survival map

Mars: the Pareidolia gag

+

Aim at the giant statue head in the south-west corner — the Astra Malorum gag still works in the Survival cut.

Hidden power-ups

This map has no fixed, pre-placed hidden power-ups — power-ups drop from kills and special rounds as normal, so there is nothing hidden to hunt for here.

When it isn't working

The stalls that actually cost people runs on this map, and what to do about each.

TroubleshootingEach of these is quoted from the step it belongs to, derived from a gate the guide already states, or researched from the map's own quest documentation — nothing here is guesswork about what might be going wrong.

Doing everything right and nothing happens?

Check the round. Part of this quest is round-gated — it cannot start early however well you play: “Uber Klaus is the map's Elite; from round 40 it can spawn as a bare Core instead of a full exoskeleton.” Keep the setup going and come back to it.

Common Survival maps & DOA questions

Direct answers to the specific things players look up mid-game — part locations, puzzle steps and more.

Which Survival maps are there?

Vandorn Farm from launch, then Ashwood, Exit 115 and Zarya from Ashes of the Damned, Nuked from Paradox Junction, Mars from Astra Malorum, and Eidskallen Lighthouse from Totenreich, added in Season 05.

Is there Pack-a-Punch on the Survival maps?

Yes — it is added in for Survival, alongside Der Wunderfizz, the Mystery Box and the Arsenal. On Eidskallen Lighthouse you reach it by climbing the lighthouse stairs rather than having it dropped in.

What do the milestone rewards look like?

Every Survival map awards permanent rewards on first completion of rounds 10, 25 and 50 — typically an Emblem at 10, a Weapon Charm at 25 and a GobbleGum at 50, plus 1,000, 2,500 and 5,000 XP. Cursed Survival shifts the milestones to rounds 25, 50 and 75 across Tiers 1 to 3, with Ultra GobbleGum and Charm rewards.

What is Starting Room mode?

You are locked into a map's spawn area — every door sealed, no exfil, and no Pack-a-Punch, armour vests or perk machines beyond whatever that room happens to contain. Every Starting Room does include a GobbleGum machine, and that is the whole trick: perks and Pack-a-Punch effects have to be forced in through gums.

Where should I hold on Vandorn Farm?

The barn interior. It has a single main doorway, so train the horde into that one lane and keep the nearest wall weapon for cheap ammo.

Are there hidden power-ups to find?

No. Survival, Rogue Run and Dead Ops all use the standard round-based pool dropped by kills — Max Ammo, Nuke, Insta-Kill, Double Points, Full Power and Bonus Points. Every drop is a random kill reward, so there is nothing pre-placed to hunt.

What is different about Eidskallen Lighthouse?

The fights are unusually vertical, on icy cliffs around Beacon Island and the lighthouse, and the signature defence is the Flammenfalle fire trap.

Can I run Cursed on the Survival maps?

Yes — Cursed Survival launched in Season Two with its own reward set. It layers the Cursed modifiers onto the arena, with tougher elites and altered drops.
